Girls, unlike boys, tend to play 'softer' games. Their activities will have to be more showy and/or beautifying themselves. Here are some suggested games that you can play for an all-girls birthday party!
Beads/beaded Jewelry
READING GAMES FOR KIDS
One favorite party game for girls is making something with beads. You will need a bead kit or a group of beads, clasps and string for each girl. Some commercial kits are available for bracelets, anklets, earrings, and even watches.
Each girl is given her choice of beads to work with and she puts together her jewelry. Earrings can be made fairly quickly and girls usually find they love making their own beaded items. Make sure to bring extras because once you get the group going they are likely to want to build one for each of their friends and relatives.
Dress-up
Playing dress-up works for all parties if you have the right approach. For a theme party you can have the girls dress up to match your theme and allow the girls to reenact portions of a movie. The more clothing that is available the more fun they have. If you have older girls they will prefer to have a make over. Both are really fun.
Dress-up/Charades
A spin you can put on dress-up is you can have a few pieces of clothing in a suitcase. Have cards available with names of famous people on the cards. Each girl picks a number and the one closest to the number you had thought of wins and will pick a card first. The person can dress up in one item at a time from the suit case to try to help the others in the group guess whose name is on the card. Hints can't be given verbally. The person who wins gets to take a card and the suit case next. If nobody guesses before you run out of things to put on in the suit case you are out of the game. Last person left in the game wins.
Make-over
Painting each other's finger and toe nails is a favorite party activity. If there are stickers and beads available to stick to the nails they add to the fun. After nails you can either work on each girl or they can work on each other to fix her hair and makeup. This is something girls of all ages enjoy...some moms might want to join in as well. Facials are also fun but if there is any way a boy might show up, even when the party is for young girls, the girls won't want to be seen getting a facial.
Balloon Popping Race
This is fun for kids of all ages. Each kid fills their own balloon (with air) and when they are signaled to start the race is on. The first person to pop her balloon wins. Of course, it can't be that simple for older children. Older girls need to have their balloons tied to a piece of string and then tied to their waist. Sit on the balloon; bump into a friend and pop the balloon between the two of you, whatever it takes you do not want to be the last one with an un-popped balloon.
