Pajama Party for Children

We can still remember pajama parties in our time. It was fun and something we remember and cherish for a long time to come. So planning a pajama party for your kid would be an easy experience. Just remember to plan activities like watching movies, prepare healthy snacks and get ready some art projects and fun games to do. The possibilities for a pajama party are endless.

Have you ever considered having a pajama party during the day for friends of the birthday child, both girls and boys? Usually pajama parties are late night sleepovers, and boys invite boys and girls invite girls. However, you can have the fun of a pajama party without actually having to host children overnight.

Schedule the party to start in the afternoon or evening. Inform the parents that it is to be a pajama party, so please let the children arrive in pajamas, for the fun of it. Pajama pants and shirts will be fine and creative parents might even let children arrive in bed-caps and hair rollers. Bring slippers and robes to complete the picture. Even if the party starts at 3 pm on a Saturday, you can start the pajama party right away. Set up sleeping bags or blankets to act as each child's home base. Try to set up some group activities, such as art projects and board games. You can be the leader to start them off and to make sure they go on well. When it comes to supper, it might be a good idea to involve the children and allow them to help make healthy snacks. Story reading is a good idea too depending on their ages. There are also art project which are fun to do at pajama parties. Making jewellery, candle making and sand sculpturing are good examples.

Once the activities are over, help the children to settle down by letting them watch a movie. If you are holding a full-fledged sleepover, try to start this process early, the sooner they all lay down to watch a movie, the sooner they will start to fall asleep. If parents are picking them up, you can still end the party with a movie so that by the time parents come to pick them up, the children have calmed down and ready to head for home.

If it's to be a full-fledged sleep over, you need to watch each of the children carefully to make sure they are not sad or homesick. Maybe when you send out the invites, find out from parents if their children is comfortable sleeping over or not, if not you might end up having to make calls in the middle of the night when children wants to go home. Be sure to set a designated time for parents t pick up their children. Even then be prepared for emergencies by preparing more breakfast for children who wakes up too early for pickup by their parents.
