It may sound trite--okay, I KNOW it sounds trite--but Pac Man will always be my favorite arcade game. When I was little, my cousin had a little portable Pac Man game and I used to play it every opportunity I got.
I've played this classic arcade game in a variety of ways since then; on that portable game, on an actual arcade machine, on consoles, and now, in this newfangled day and age, even on my cell phone and on the Internet. In my opinion, the game remains as fun as ever in any of these incarnations.

The game is so simple, it's admirable. You're simply a little yellow circle with a slice cut out of it, so to speak, being chased by ghosts while you try to gobble up all the little dots and collecting little pieces of fruit and whatnot. It's exhilerating. When I get pinned in between two ghosts, I literally jump up in the air sometimes and squeal like a little girl; I'm that invested in the game.
Of course, then, there's those moments where the tables turn and YOU'RE chasing the GHOSTS; that's just as fun! I will admit it; for all I've played Pac Man, I'm not horribly good at it (although you'd think for all I play it, I'd pick it up better). But in my opinion, that's also part of the beauty of game; you don't have to be terribly good at it to still have fun with it and have a good time.
